DURABLE AND DEPENDABLE
PLUMBING PIPE FOR HVAC
FlowGuard® Pipe and Fittings offer durability, reliability and affordability whilst meeting commercial-grade HVAC system requirements such as temperature, pressure and size
FlowGuard® CPVC has been providing trusted hot water heating and cooling systems to schools, retail units, multi-tenancy projects and more. FlowGuard® CPVC pipe and fittings, when designed, installed and operated following manufacturers recommendations, is the ideal solution for commercial or multi-residency HVAC systems.
Why FlowGuard® CPVC for HVAC?
FlowGuard® CPVC is the ideal solution for hydronic heating and cooling applications, offering distinct advantages.
Here’s what you can expect when you partner with FlowGuard® CPVC for HVAC:
Lower Cost & Easy Installation
FlowGuard® CPVC is the brand choice for HVAC systems due to the fact of costing less and being simple to install over traditional metal systems.
Installation does not require the use of heat or electricity sources, such as torches, and does not carry time-consuming, expensive fusion processes, unlike polypropylene. FlowGuard® CPVC pipes and fittings install using one of two, affordable and straightforward methods: solvent-welding or mechanical joining, making FlowGuard® CPVC ideal for installing in confined areas.
Lower Cost of Ownership
Compared to metallic materials, FlowGuard® CPVC has lower heat transfer through the pipe wall and does not corrode over the system lifetime, requiring no maintenance or additives to continue preventing corrosion.
Durable & Reliable
Unlike metallic systems, FlowGuard® CPVC plumbing systems will not scale, pit or corrode- regardless of water quality.
Your FlowGuard® CPVC plumbing solution meets requirements:
- ASTM F 1927 Oxygen Gas Transmission Rate.
- ISO 17455 and implicit of DIN 4726 for oxygen permeability.
- ULC CAN-S102.2 Surface Burning Characteristics.
Sizes available:
- FlowGuard® SCH 80: ¼” to 24”.
- Full complement of solvent-welding fittings.
- Mechanical couplings: 2” to 12”.
Healthier
FlowGuard® CPVC technology is one of the only piping materials designed to resist biofilm growth. Our CPVC solution also withstands ASHRAE 188-compliant decontamination procedures that use high-temperatures, highly chlorinated water, or a combination of both.
Flammability & Plenum Ratings
FlowGuard® is self-extinguishing (Limiting Oxygen Index = 60).
FlowGuard® pipe and fittings meet the 25/50 flame spread/smoke developed requirements of the International Mechanical Code (IMC) and the Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC) for installation in plenums when tested in general accordance with ASTM E84. Reference ICC-ES PMG-1264 and IAPMO UEL-5002.
1/2” - 6” water-filled FlowGuard® CPVC pipe and fittings have a flame spread index of 0 and a smoke-developed index of no more than 20. 1/2” - 2” dry FlowGuard® CPVC pipe and fittings for condensate lines, have a flame spread index of no more than 0 and a smoke-developed index of no more than 20.
